Contract signed [ for third time ] to build & operate Ras Sidr Airport.

Egyptian Co. for Airports signing [ for the third time ] a contract for the building & operation of Ras Sidr Airport under B.O.T. Selected developer, this time, is an entity identified as the Tourist Development Investors Co. SAE, 20 % owned by the [ state owned ] Egyptian Co. for Airports & the remaining 80 % raised by individual investors of Ras Sidr Investors Society. According to Mr. Amr Eid, estimated investments of the Airport first stage are put at L.E. 70 million, of which L.E. 30 million are raised by the new entity & the rest to be covered from bank loans. The airport first stage is scheduled for operation beginning 2004. Ras Sidr hotels capacities are now put at 800 rooms & is expected to increase to 3,000 rooms upon inaugurating the airport.
